The painting "Sculptor Modelling a Portrait of Me" was made especially for the exhibition "Artists Painting Artists", which was part of the Estonian Artists Associations Spring Exhibition in 2020. Foresightedly I played with my painting for the fact, that despite the invitation to portray other authors, many of the artist will send self-portraits to the exhibiton. And that's how it went. To ironize the authors self-centered approach, I placed the modelling of myself at the center of my painting. Behind the modelling was a working sculptor, whose identity was only indicated by a photo of his sculpture hanging on the wall.
The second painting in the series is a smaller version of the first one. The framing of the new painting is inversely proportional to the first work. By moving the modeller to the center of the painting and leaving the sculpture partially out of the frame, it is like an improved version of the first painting.
